  He was sitting on the ground, staring off at the rolling hills that led to their farmlands. She came up beside him.

  “Hey, I’m not letting you go. We’re going together,” he said, and he turned her cheek toward him and gave her a long satisfying kiss. He must’ve known what she meant. That was a relief.

  “All right, let’s do this,” she said.

  He clasped her hand tight.

  “Where would you like to go?”

  “Oh wait, before we leave.” She had forgotten about her other question. “How long does this serum for the lactation last?”

  “Guess I’ve got to keep up my end of the bargain,” she said, and she held on tighter.
